mad & bad*
make/be a difference
My leadership training didn’t start in a boardroom; it started in the mud, holding a map upside down while leading a group of wet, hungry scouts. Since then, I’ve traded a "failed" university year for His Majesty the King’s Royal Guard, served as a NATO paramedic in Bosnia, and survived an armed robbery in Venezuela. I eventually found my stride in England, turning from a reluctant student into a PhD. I don’t just teach leadership—I’ve lived the chaos, mastered the discipline, and learned exactly what it takes to lead when times get tough.
return (of the jedi)
After 20 years in the British academic and cultural melting pot, I returned to Norway in 2019 with a career’s worth of experience and a suitcase full of new ideas.
My professional journey through the UK system spanned 15 years, including participation in the inaugural Scottish Crucible leadership programme and a climb through the ranks as a Research Assistant, Lecturer, Professor, and Editor-in-Chief. Having also served as a Head of Department and Board Member, I’ve seen leadership from every angle of the institution.
I returned home with a clear mission: to provide better leadership frameworks that actually support change, transformation, and innovation. I also brought back a few ‘essentials’—a deep obsession with artisanal coffee, craft beer, and gin & tonics, along with a borderline-obsessive collection of Japanese selvedge denim.
are you mad enough?
As an internationally recognised expert in leadership and organisational change—and a self-proclaimed rebel against status quo—I deliver keynotes and facilitate workshops across the private and public sectors, both in Norway and abroad.
I don’t always charge a traditional speaker fee. Instead, we can agree on a direct donation to a non-profit organisation, turning our collaboration into immediate social impact.
Previously delivering Change Leadership on the UiS Executive MBA, I now focus on Leadership for Innovation (Ledelse for nyskaping), part of the lifelong learning Master of Transformation and Innovation. This is Norway’s first and only Master’s program built on the intersection of design thinking, and purpose-based leadership.
